King Edward 7th Easter Rugby and Hockey Tournament
Twelve schools consisting of 32 first teams from across the country annually compete for the King Edward 7th Easter Rugby and Hockey Tournament. In 2005 three of these schools ended in the FNB Top 20 - Grey (4th), Westville (9th) and Pretoria Boys' High School (20th). KES is famous for producing some of the finest talents in our national sports codes, among these the likes of Gary Player, Lee Barnard, Ali Bacher, Adam Bacher and Kevin McKenzie. The latest products from KES are Springbok and WP number eight, Joe van Niekerk, Springbok and Blue Bulls left wing, Bryan Habana and our national cricket captain, Graeme Smith. |

Rugby Currie Cup Final - 2005
The rugby Currie Cup is the most coveted rugby championship in South Africa, originating back in 1891. The 2005 Currie cup final was hosted by 3 times consecutive winners The Blue Bulls at a packed Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria, playing against the Freestate Cheetahs, one time winners back in 1976. The two sides combined boasted no less than 11 players who represented South Africa in the Tri-Nations later in July. Live Moments was there to capture the action. |

SA Senior Men's Interprovincial Hockey Tournament - 2005
The Tshwane University of Technology played hosts to the 2005 interprovincial hockey tournament. 18 Teams in all participated and it was a resurged Western Province Team who emerged as victors. The SA senior side were chosen from these teams and represented their country at the World Cup in Holland the following month.
SA u/18 Men's Interprovincial Hockey Tournament - 2005
27 Teams in Sections A, B, and C participated in the annual SA u/18 Interprovincial Hockey tournament held at the University of Pretoria, St' Alban's College and the Pretoria Boys' High School. The Finals were played between these two teams with this team going on to win the trophy.

African Cup of Nations Hockey - 2005
The African Cup of Nations Hockey tournament was held at the Tshwane University of Technology. Four international men's and women's team competed for this coveted prize and LiveMoments were there to capture all the action. In the men's final it was South Africa who played Egypt, with the locals coming up trump, and in the Ladies' final it was South Africa again who went on to take the trophy as they beat Ghana. |

Alumni Laureate Dinner
2005 signalled the 32nd Laureate Awards of the University of Pretoria. The Laureate Award is the highest award an alumnus of Tuks or an outstanding achiever can receive from fellow alumni. The Laureate statuette was introduced in 2000, to coincide with the first Laureate Ball. This artwork, comprising the silhouette of Kya Rosa in bronze, is mounted on black granite, and was designed and cast by Tuks alumnus Angus van Zyl Taylor. Angus also received a Laureate Award this year! |
